Should we give Republicans more time to tell us Obama is going to take my guns away?

I was told that if I voted for Obama in 2008 he was going to take my gun away. Now here we are in 2011 and I still have my gun and I can still afford ammo on a low paying service job. In fact I have more gun rights thanks to Obama going around the liberal congress in 2009 signing into law that we can carry loaded guns in national forest and is not standing in the way of state rights allowing guns in bars.
